THE ULTIMATE “GOOD MORNINGS”

How can I get involved?
Spread the wordContribute to inform as many people as possible about the Day, by publicising it to friends and colleagues, in newsletters, on websites, at meetings and to contacts in the media. Ideas are available at the website below. The experience of the European Year of Languages 2001 shows we can achieve much more in partnership than alone. The Day provides an opportunity to continue to strengthen partnerships developed during the year at local, regional, national and international levels.
Organise eventsPartners in the European Year of Languages organised many thousands of successful events, ranging from talks to activities involving whole towns and cities. A selection of practical ideas applicable to any situation and further information can be found on the Council of Europe website for the Day at www.coe.int/EDL

The 26th September is the European Day of Languages. Because it is such an important day, we decided to celebrate this day by teaching you how to say “good morning” in some European languages.
In England, everybody knows that good morning is “good morning”.
In France, good morning is “bonjour”.
In Germany, good morning is “Guten morgen”.
In España, which is Spain in Spanish, good morning is “Buenos dias”.
In Portugal, good morning is “bom dia”.
In Nederland, which is Netherland in Dutch, good morning is “dag”.
In Ellada, which is Greece in Greek, good morning is “káli méra”.
In Italia, which is Italy in Italia, good morning is “buon giorno”.
Those were the “good mornings” we wanted to teach you.

For next year can I also suggest the global language Esperanto be added?

In Esperanto this would be "bonan matenon"

If you need further help perhaps http://www.lernu.net
